At the age of ten, Deni set aside her creative impulse to take on the role of caretaker for her two younger siblings, helping her mother shoulder the demands of family life. In returning to art, she reclaims that sense of play, imagination, curiosity, and freedom once deferred—transforming creation into a quiet act of healing—an exploration of lightness without guilt and expression without expectation.
For Deni, the studio is a space of alchemy—where material and emotion meet through instinct, touch, and play. A multidisciplinary artist, working across clay, oil paint, watercolor, pastels, charcoal, and ink, she approaches each medium with curiosity and openness. Clay, in particular, invites a childlike engagement: pressed, carved, and shaped into a tactile surface before a single brushstroke is applied. Once fired, the form becomes a ground for oil painting—a merging of two selves, the child who plays freely and the adult who paints with intention.
